WELCOME!
SpectroDynamics
LLC offers bleeding-edge software products and custom-system development services.
Part of the Xstream Technologies group of companies, SpectroDynamics engineers bring along unparalleled
expertise and experience in the areas of concurrent computing (e.g. System-on-a-Chip, Network-on-a-Chip contexts),
software with analytical/reasoning capabilities, embedded systems, sensors, advanced signal processing, neural networks,
smart antennas and beamforming, secure communications, deep-packet inspection and traffic grooming, development of custom
design/simulation tools, navigation/control tracking & acquisition systems, software-defined radio, cognitive radio, cutting-edge
RF & photonic transceivers, PCB and VLSI design (both ASIC & FPGA), extremely high-speed data acquisition in
the high-energy physics, neutron imaging, and nuclear engineering realms, semantic web, symbolic programming, functional
programming, logic programming, object-persistence, and AI/cognitive technologies.
SpectroDynamics technologies include:
1)
ButterflyTM, a distributed computing platform for sophisticated,
concurrent, multithreaded, seamless, and secure software development, as well as scalable deployment from one to numerous
local or remote systems.
Processes are easily spawned by any piece of software,
and launched onto one or many processors that can be located anywhere, from inside the same desktop, all the way to other
side of the planet.
Processes perform their computational work and
deliver their results to each other, as needed, by communicating through a powerful asynchronous messaging model, which is
process-specific and mailbox-based.
Messages can be as simple as
a simple bit, or character, or as complex as e.g. whole chunks of actual software code that are transmitted "live"
and "hot"-installed onto another system during runtime, simply by the special interaction that ButterflyTM
technology enables from one process to another.
Priority retrieval
of incoming inter-process messages from a mailbox can be configured for each receiving process in extremely flexible
and elaborate ways.
The net result is powerful concurrent scalable multiprocessing that
completely eliminates inter-process racing, deadlock, or process starvation.
2) GigaDSPTM, an advanced, extremely powerful, flexible
and fully programmable, hierarchical, superb-graphics-based mathematical and systems simulator.
Typical GigaDSPTM applications include e.g. digital signal processing, RF system design,
control systems analysis, multiphysics, mechanical, electronic, and mathematical simulations.
It has, however, been very successfully used also for sophisticated financial modeling (i.e. trading
strategies, foreign exchange monitoring, derivatives structuring, financial market analysis, complex statistics, etc.).
GigaDSPTM is intuitively used thanks to its mouse-enabled
drag-and-drop block models. Each one of these blocks implements extremely sophisticated behavior.
Once such blocks are interconnected by a series of simple point-and-click operations, advanced mathematical simulations
and models become trivially easy to execute.
Layers of such interconnected
blocks naturally allow the design, analysis & simulations of extremely complex systems, either in a top-down or in
a bottom-up approach.
Besides the massive block behavior libraries
that are already included inside GigaDSPTM, advanced users can also easily write their own custom code by using
our special API to capture, from scratch, new desirable block behavior, and at any level of abstraction, in this next-generation
simulator environment.
